How to shorten links and track clicks

The short answer
Paste your long link into Linklope to get a short slk.me link. Share it, then sign in to see how many people clicked, which countries they came from and which websites sent them.
Long links look messy and are hard to share. A short link is neat, easy to type and easy to check. If it also tracks clicks, you learn which posts and messages really work. Linklope is a free URL shortener we made and run ourselves.
Step 1: Paste your long link
Open linklope.com and paste the full web address of the page you want to share.
Step 2: Choose your ending
Linklope short links start with slk.me. You can type your own ending, like slk.me/mybook, or let Linklope give you a random one.
Step 3: Share the short link
Use it on social posts, in messages, on printed material and in emails. Use a different short link for each place, so you can tell which one works best.
Step 4: Read the click numbers
Make a free account to see tracking for each link in your dashboard. You can see how many people clicked, which countries they came from and which websites sent them. Linklope does not store the IP address of people who click.
What visitors see
Before a visitor goes on, a quick check page shows where the link goes, with the full web address and who sent the link. This helps people feel safe.
Free use, limits and expiry
Linklope is free, with no ads. Guests can make 2 links a day, and guest links can last 1 hour or 30 days. With a free account you can make as many links as you need, and links can last up to 1 year. Linklope has no custom domains, no API, no browser extension and no QR codes.
Step 5: Learn and improve
Compare your links each week. Keep what works, change what does not, and test a new headline or time of day.
